Chapter Philanthropy

Chapter Philanthropy

The sisters of Eta Theta chapter are dedicated to the three ideals of Truth, Sincerity, and Constancy through service and philanthropy in the Harvard community and beyond. We are committed to three aspects of philanthropy – serving our local community, giving back to our national foundation, and participating in our national philanthropy, Reading Is Fundamental (RIF). Whether this means traveling to elementary schools or the local YMCA to read and play with children or walking hand in hand with fellow sisters at Relay for Life, taking the time to consciously make a difference ties us together in the bonds of sisterhood. Each year, in additional to supporting causes like Reading is Fundamental, we make an active effort to help our sisters pursue their passions. We've had the most fun dancing all night at the Harvard College Dance Marathon, fundraising for the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center Walk for Change, holding a Kappa Boutique "klothing" swap for the Women's Shelter, and advocating for Headbands for Hope. With each successful event, our sisters become increasingly excited and creative in planning the next service event. Our dedicated Philanthropy Chair, along with her Committee, work hard to integrate the entire chapter in promoting the greater good, while ensuring sisters simultaneously have fun and leave each experience understanding that even the smallest acts can make a large difference.
